Overview The SWEEP005 is a 1/2" Schedule 40 grey PVC conduit sweep elbow (also called a service entrance ell or long-radius conduit elbow). Unlike a standard sharp-radius LB conduit body, the sweep elbow uses a gradual, long-radius 90-degree bend that significantly reduces pulling tension when threading pump wire through the conduit system. This is particularly important for submersible pump drop cables, which must be pulled through from well head to panel without kinking or damaging the wire jacket. The long-radius design meets NEC requirements for conduit bends and is preferred over short-radius elbows in pump wire installations. The sweep elbow is used at the base of conduit risers, at directional changes between vertical and horizontal runs, and wherever a smooth 90-degree turn in the conduit system is required. Compatible with 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC conduit and fittings.
