Overview Rain Bird XFS-CV combines the Copper Shield subsurface dripline with factory-installed check valves at each emitter. The check valves close when pressure drops below 4 PSI, preventing the line from draining after each irrigation cycle — a critical feature for sloped terrain where low-head drainage would saturate the lowest head on each zone and leave upper areas under-irrigated. Operating pressure: 20–60 PSI (higher minimum than non-CV due to check valve actuation). XFS-CV shares the same 0.634" OD and 0.049" wall construction as standard XFS, and is compatible with the same drip fittings, end caps, and flushing valves. Copper Shield root-intrusion protection is integral to all emitters. Requires 120-mesh minimum filtration upstream. Available in 0.6 GPH GPH at 18" spacing; select flow and spacing to match soil type and crop water demand. Particularly recommended for sloped drip installations, terraced beds, and systems where complete line drainage between cycles would cause puddling at low points.
