PVC Class 160 SDR 26 Pipe, 4" — 160 PSI rated thin-wall PVC, ASTM D2241; lightweight choice for irrigation mainlines and lateral runs where full Schedule 40 rating is not required.
Overview PVC Class 160 SDR 26 pipe in 4" (OD 4.500", wall 0.173") is rated at 160 PSI — more than adequate for the 40–100 PSI working pressures typical of residential and commercial irrigation systems. The thinner wall reduces material cost and pipe weight versus Schedule 40, while maintaining dimensional compatibility with standard IPS solvent-weld fittings. Class 160 is widely used for irrigation mainlines from the backflow preventer to zone valves, and for inter-zone laterals where flow velocity keeps friction loss acceptable. Manufactured to ASTM D2241, Class 160 SDR 26 PVC is listed NSF 14 for non-pressure fittings in irrigation use. The pipe solvent-cements to any IPS PVC fitting using Schedule 40 or SDR-compatible primer and cement. While lighter than Schedule 40, it is still rigid enough for stable manifold and mainline installations. Not recommended for sleeving under high-load paving where Schedule 40 crush resistance is preferred. Available in 10 ft and 20 ft lengths depending on SKU.
