Overview PVC Class 200 SDR 21 pipe in 2" (OD 2.375", wall 0.113") is rated at 200 PSI, bridging the gap between Class 160 and Schedule 40. The SDR 21 wall thickness is heavier than SDR 26 (Class 160), providing additional crush resistance and pressure margin for pump-fed systems, higher-elevation mainlines, and installations closer to the pressure source where transient pressure spikes may occur. Common uses include well-pump discharge headers, municipal tie-ins before pressure regulators, and mainlines in high-pressure zones of large commercial systems. Manufactured to ASTM D2241, Class 200 SDR 21 PVC joins with standard IPS solvent-weld fittings using Schedule 40 primer and cement. Its outside diameter is identical to Schedule 40 of the same nominal size, ensuring full compatibility with existing IPS fittings, valves, and transition adapters. NSF 14 listed. The rigid construction handles long unsupported runs with minimal sag. Not suited for above-grade permanent installations in high-UV environments without protective coating.
