Overview NDS IPS Flex pipe in 1/2" (OD 0.840", wall 0.147") is a flexible black vinyl pipe used as a swing arm connection between buried lateral pipe and pop-up spray heads or rotors. The flexibility absorbs grade changes, head movement under foot traffic, and thermal expansion without stressing the lateral fitting. Flex pipe is the industry-standard riser alternative for sub-grade installations: the head can be positioned precisely on grade after the lateral is installed, reducing rework caused by elevation changes during final grading. IPS-dimensioned OD is compatible with standard PVC slip fittings, barb adapters, and poly swing joint components. Connects at the lateral with a barb or compression fitting, and at the head with a barb or threaded adapter. Maximum working pressure typically 60 PSI; do not use flex pipe as a mainline pressure carrier or for long horizontal runs. The black colour provides UV resistance for the exposed section between grade and head. Sold cut to length or in coils depending on SKU.
