Overview Polytubes Drop160 is a 160 PSI medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) pipe conforming to CSA B137.1. The higher pressure rating makes Drop160 appropriate for irrigation mainlines fed directly from municipal service connections before pressure regulation, pump discharge lines, and any zone where working pressure exceeds the 100 PSI capacity of standard poly pipe. The 1-1/2" size handles residential and light-commercial mainline duties with adequate safety margin above typical system pressure. MDPE construction provides greater rigidity and crush resistance compared to LLDPE grades, reducing deflection under soil load in deeper trenches. Joins with standard barb, compression, or insert fittings rated for the applicable pressure. CSA B137.1 certification confirms compliance with Canadian polyethylene pipe standards. Available on 100 ft and 200 ft coils; the black outer colour provides UV protection for short surface exposure during installation. Not rated for potable water.
