Overview Regency P1717D is a shielded 2-conductor communication cable used to carry the signal output from irrigation flow meters and flow sensors back to a compatible smart controller. The 17 AWG conductors and overall foil/braid shield protect the low-level signal from electromagnetic interference generated by nearby solenoid valve wiring and pump control panels — a critical requirement for accurate flow measurement in large multi-zone systems. The cable is direct-burial rated, eliminating the need for conduit in standard soil installations. Compatible with pulse-output flow sensors used with Rain Bird ESP-TM2, Hunter HC, Hydrawise, and other controllers that support flow monitoring and water budgeting. Install in a separate trench or conduit from 24 VAC valve wire where possible to minimise inductive interference; keep runs as short as the system layout allows. Terminate at the controller with the shielded drain wire connected to earth ground as directed by the controller manufacturer. Available on coil; cut to required length.
