Overview The Kichler 16171 is a surface-mount LED step light with a louvered faceplate that directs light down onto stair treads and walking surfaces while hiding the source from view. The integrated LED produces 7 delivered lumens at 2700K with a CRI of 80, an even, low-glare wash intended for wayfinding on steps, deck stairs, retaining walls and landings rather than general illumination. Its low-profile construction suits both retrofit and new construction. At 0.75" deep, the fixture mounts directly to the riser or wall surface with no junction box, and a removable mounting template is included for layout. The body is aluminum with a diffused glass lens and brass components, sealed and fully encapsulated against outdoor elements, and UL rated for wet locations. It runs on a 12V landscape transformer (sold separately) and has a rated life of 50,000 hours. Finish options: Centennial Brass, Textured Architectural Bronze, Textured Black.
