The Irritrol Lightning Arrestor protects irrigation valve field wiring from lightning-induced voltage surges that can damage controllers and solenoid valves.
Overview The Irritrol IR-TW-LA-1 Lightning Arrestor is a surge protection device that installs on the field wiring between the irrigation controller and valve solenoids. When a lightning strike induces a high-voltage surge on the wire run, the arrestor diverts the energy to ground before it can reach the controller circuit board or blow the solenoid coil in the valve. Compatible with standard 24VAC irrigation control wiring. Proper grounding is required for the arrestor to function correctly. Recommended for all outdoor irrigation systems in areas with frequent thunderstorm activity. Sold individually.
