OverviewThe FranklinWater Artesian Drive Package System (ADPS) is a factory-engineered 5 HP single-phase constant-pressure submersible pump system combining a 4″ or 6″ submersible pump with a Franklin Electric MonoDrive XT or compatible single-phase variable-frequency drive (VFD), pre-wired and tested as a complete unit. The VFD modulates motor speed in real time to maintain a set-point delivery pressure regardless of flow demand, eliminating the pressure fluctuations of conventional on/off pump systems and dramatically reducing motor start-up current, water hammer, and cycle fatigue. At 5 HP single-phase, the ADPS is engineered for the upper limit of residential single-phase service and the lower range of commercial agricultural supply — large irrigated acreages, multi-building farm water systems, commercial site irrigation, and community water systems with moderate peak demand.The VFD component accepts 230V single-phase input and outputs a variable-frequency three-phase signal to the submersible motor, enabling true variable-speed control without a three-phase supply. The drive includes built-in motor protection functions: dry-run detection, over-current, over-temperature, and under-voltage trip with auto-restart. The pump end is stainless steel 4″ or 6″ Franklin Electric or compatible submersible motor-pump assembly rated to match the 5 HP drive capacity. The complete package includes the VFD in a NEMA 4X rated enclosure (or equivalent) for outdoor pump house or enclosure mounting, factory-terminated cable connections, and commissioning instructions. Set-point pressure is adjustable via the drive front panel or remote pressure transducer. Optional remote monitoring via RS-485 Modbus or Franklin Electric’s SubDrive interface.
