Activated carbon to polish pond water, with mesh bag
Polish AC is bituminous coal activated by heat so its pores trap pond pollutants such as tannins, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. It also removes chlorine and odour.
Using it
- Rinse the carbon well, bag it and put it in the filter; it works best alongside a filter, not alone in the pond
- Replace every 3 months, especially in spring and summer when pollutants peak
- Double the carbon for large fish loads
- A 12 × 18 in (30 × 46 cm) mesh bag is included
Sizing
This 5 lb pack is rated for a 2,000 US gallon pond for up to 3 months. The label dose is 2.5 lb up to 1,000 US gallons, 5 lb up to 2,000 and 15 lb up to 3,000.
